Designed and built an automated environmental controller using a Raspberry Pi, LabJack DAQ sensors, and custom Python software—built specifically to manage microclimate conditions for our pet gecko here in Phoenix.

GECKO MICROCLIMATE AUTOMATION: We live in Phoenix with a house full of pets—including a pet gecko, which is the direct reason this project exists. Phoenix gets hot, but vivariums need carefully controlled temperature and humidity gradients to keep microclimates stable and safe.

LABJACK DAQ & RASPBERRY PI STACK: Hooked a Raspberry Pi up to a LabJack T4 data acquisition unit to read high-precision environmental sensors and drive physical relays for heating elements, humidity control, and lighting cycles.

OPEN-SOURCE CONTROL SOFTWARE (viva-logger): Wrote custom Python software (open-sourced as viva-logger) to log continuous sensor telemetry, run closed-loop feedback control loops, and manage microclimate automation.
