I work with interns daily, teaching them a variety of skills, from computer programming, engineering and design.
I have extensive professional experience in 3D modeling (Rhinoceros, RhinoCAM, Rhinonest, Grasshopper, Rhinoscript, Processing, Maya, etc.), digital fabrication (techoisel 3-axis, lasercutting, 3D printing) and traditional shop tools and finishing techniques. examples: http://situfabrication.com/works/art/itransitional-objectibralyson-shotz, http://situfabrication.com/works/art/ifrank-lloyd-wright-within-outwardibrsitu-studio, http://situfabrication.com/works/art/istorm-king-50i-historic-site-modelbr2x4-inc
I moved to Pittsburgh 2.5 years ago and have been searching for access to digital fabrication tools. I have a full time job at an engineering firm, but my creative outlet is lacking. I believe through teaching these skills (in the evenings), I can recapture that facet of my career and network in Pittsburgh’s emerging digital fabrication/art culture. I also can continue to grow my skillset, particularly into my emerging interest in embedded electronics.
3D printing. (I have extensive experience m odeling watertight meshes for 3D printing), CNC ( I have extensive experience coordinating fabrication projects, mostly small scale art pieces and architectural models utilizing 3-axis milling, 3D printing and laser cutting)
